Delaware Forklift Parts - Delaware is a U.S. state located on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States. It is surrounded to the south and west by Maryland, to the east by New Jersey and to the north by the state of Pennsylvania. The state of Delaware takes its name from the 3rd Baron De La Warr, Thomas West, an English nobleman and Virginia's first colonial governor, after whom what is currently called Cape Henlopen was originally named.

After the state of Rhode Island, the state of Delaware is the 2nd smallest state in area. The state is situated within the northeastern portion of the Delmarva Peninsula and ranks as the 45th most densely inhabited state within the US, yet ranks 6th in population density. 60 percent or more of Delaware's people live in New Castle County. The state of Delaware is divided into three counties. From north to south, these three counties are New Castle, Kent, and Sussex. Although the two southern counties have before been predominantly agricultural, New Castle County has been more industrialized.

As a percentage of the workforce, the state ranks 2nd in scientists and engineers, while also ranking second in the number of patents per 1,000 workers issued to companies or individuals. The history of Delaware's industrial and economic development is closely tied to the effect of the Du Pont family, scions and founders of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, amongst the globe's biggest chemical businesses.

In the 16th century, before the coastline being first explored by Europeans, the state of Delaware was colonized by many Native American groups, that consisted of the Nanticoke within the south and the Lenape towards the north. Delaware was originally colonized by Dutch traders at Zwaanendael, which is near the present town of Lewes, during 1631. The state of Delaware was among the 13 colonies participating in the American Revolution and on the 7th of December, the year 1787, became the very first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, thereby becoming called The First State.

Agriculture production in the state includes nursery stock, poultry, corn, soybeans and dairy products. Major industrial production comprises automobiles, chemical products, processed foods, paper products, and plastic and rubber products. The economy of the state usually outperforms the national average of the US.

Delaware's unemployment rate was 8.5%, as of the month of January 2011. The largest employers within the state are: government education, banking, chemical and pharmaceutical companies, Hercules, Syngenta and AstraZeneca, healthcare, automotive manufacturing, and farming.

The Dover Air Force Base, situated next to the state capital of Dover, is amongst the biggest Air Force bases within the US and is a major employer within Delaware. In addition to its other responsibilities within the USAF Air Mobility Command, this air base serves as the entry point and mortuary for American military staff, and some U.S. government civilians, who die overseas.
